Estimated Feasibility of User Requirements

Methodology

1.1 The initial Ranking of 2.viii.02 was a simple descending hierarchy; the ranking was amended but the format was not altered in the subsequent Technical Review of 12.iii.04.

1.2 It would be unnecessarily complex for this document to refer to items through a retrospective double cross reference so the ranking of the Technical Review is represented by the letters a-t with (a) at the top of the ranking and (t) at the bottom. Reference to the table at the end of Section 2. will show how this analysis has changed the ranking.

1.3 Each user requirement is scored against two factors, Desirability and Feasibility, weighted equally at 50 and an aggregate score is produced and the requirements ranked but the scores out of 50 are shown separately so that the Desirability and Feasibility can be ranked separately if required.

1.4 In spite of User Requirement a) in Section 1., all discussions of the Requirements have taken place against a background assumption that Cybrarian/MyGuide will be a PC-based internet facility for conducting data searches and sending e-mail. At one point chat rooms were discussed but ruled out. Interactivity (Item p)), Tools and Prompts (Item p)) and e-commerce (Item t)) were also briefly discussed.
